A glimpse into a ladies’ jail service

Yesterday the atmosphere almost tasted sweet. Girls who didn’t seem so painted with colors of dark grays. They all seemed to be somewhat in good spirits and nothing that made me feel like the world needed to just be done.

They all made mention of family and kids lost to foster care when we asked for prayer requests. All except for _____… a young somewhat remarkably beautiful girl…hidden behind weighted pounds of unnecessary makeup. She had an empty stare submitted as her prayer request. As we were wrapping it all up with the last minutes leaving, she spoke up…loudly…"do you guys meet with the men also?” no. “My dad is in there” etc…

… “I just want to look him in the eyes so he knows how I feel”… “you know what I mean?”

We both replied “yea.”

We asked how her mom was and she fidgeted anxiously and lost her words. “She’s had seizures since then.”

So the lightheartedness in the room converted to dark despair. The scale balanced…the awareness of the need for a healing rescue found us there.

Please pray that she can involuntarily find Christ’s forgiveness…otherwise I’m afraid her life’s days will keep its bondage- her unspoken unspoken.
