Fall semester begins for Pinwheel Tutoring in Murphy.
Every Monday and Tuesday afternoon, students from Murphy Elementary and Murphy Middle meet with a volunteer tutor who is there specifically for them — working through the subjects where they're struggling, sharing prayer and Scripture time, and finding out what it feels like to be known and supported. Sessions run 3:00 to 5:00 PM for ten weeks.
Last fall, eight students had a tutor in their corner. This fall we're praying for fifteen — and that means we need roughly thirty tutors, plus substitutes, because every child is paired with more than one caring adult.
If you can read, you can tutor. No teaching degree required. Just show up, be consistent, and care.
